Gillian Anderson to star in ‘Room On The Broom’

X Files actress Gillian Anderson is to play the lead role of a witch in a BBC adaptation of children’s book Room On The Broom.

The actress will be joining a star studded cast in performing the adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s book, which will be released at Christmas.

Rob Brydon will be playing a cat in the half hour film, whilst David Walliams will play a frog in the production.

Narrated by Shaun Of The Dead actor Simon Pegg, the cast will also include Martin Clunes and Sally Hawkins with Timothy Spall playing the evil dragon. The team behind the award-winning The Gruffalo are making the production.
