The Times – Sarah Vine

“it was a simple delight to watch the animation of Room on the Broom, the beloved children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The story of an optimistic and gentle witch who, by turns, invites a menagerie of stray animals to join her and her reluctant feline on her broom, was brought to life in delightful style by a great ensemble cast. Simon Pegg was the narrator, Gillian Anderson the generous witch, with David Walliams as the wonderfully fastidious frog, Timothy Spall as a grumpy dragon, Martin Clunes as the ever optimistic dog, Sally Hawkins as the bird and Rob Brydon as the cat.

It had wit, it had style, it had originality. It left me feeling absurdly cheerful.”
